Designing a Life
Manifest Your Destiny!
This is the chapter where you learn what it means to be a healer
and the "how to" processes of
The practice of metaphysical healing.
There is nothing we own and almost nothing we can control.
We can, however, choose our thoughts.
This is where we must start and finish life’s journey.
If we are immobilized, we are in fear.
If we are confused, we are in fear.
If we are angry, we are in fear.
If we hate, we are afraid.
If we doubt, we are being fearful.
If we are discouraged, in pain, in illness or whatever distress; It is only fear wearing a different disguise.
I can’t say enough about taking responsibility for your life totally—right here and now.
If not you, who do you want to do it for you?
Whining and blaming God for your circumstances won’t make you healthy. It will make you feel weak and guilty - which equates to more negative thinking — which created the problem in the first place.
Always align your thinking with that which you would create!
In reality, healing is always a process of uncovering Truth, not changing matter.
Our practice is not to heal a world outside of ourselves.
We can transform the world only in our own consciousness.
We must work on ourselves and not interfere with the Divine Plan working in others. This doesn’t mean that we don’t pray for or affirm another’s innate good. It means that we must get clear in our own thinking. Our own thinking is the only place from which we can heal. It is not selfish to work on ourselves.
Our clarity will bless others.
In my work I have often been referred to as a healer. I find it interesting how we don’t often get credit for who or what we are, yet I was getting credit for something I could never actually be. The mind/body/spirit mechanism, as it is often called in holistic medicine, is complex and incredible.
Doctors can’t heal us. What they can do is set up the circumstances or conditions conducive to healing. Only the spirit/body/mind can do its own self-regeneration.
So when I hear the comment that Todd is a healer, I humbly rejoice in knowing that I have touched someone’s heart, mind or body in a way that enabled them to rediscover the peace that always resided within them.
We are all "healers" when we utilize the intention of assisting and blessing others. This desire, coupled with the other person’s needs, meet and something happens. Not that everyone we wish well immediately has a healing, but the intent of this blessing has power. Both the receiver and giver feel the benefit of the loving intention.
Here are some important concepts I have learned:
- Don’t buy into the problem. If you believe it is an unchangeable fact, you are empowering the illness not the person and therefore you cannot help.
- Many illnesses represent a call for love from the pain concealed within someone’s body and mind.
- Your intention to assist helps because Love heals.
- We assist best by developing an inner trust that wellness is the norm the body seeks and that illness is a temporary sense of things which can yield at any moment.
- Although we cannot heal anyone, we can be part of the process that encourages healing to occur naturally.
- Fear, and its resultant stress, can be the central cause of pain/illness. Other sources include suppressed anger or resentment.
The body may heal itself, but the process isn’t complete until
we dismiss the belief that provoked the injury or illness.
