Every day is new. With each day comes new opportunities. That which served us before is no longer of use. Our skills must continually be updated. Our attitudes must be refreshed and we must gently release the past. The rising and setting of the sun can symbolize this and more to us. We see the sun as immense power and the never-ending source of life. Despite its humanly inconceivable power, the sun gently blesses us day in and day out as it has for millions of years. Such amazing consistency! Each day we totally trust the sun to peek over the horizon in the east at dawn and we don’t fear its loss as it melts into the horizon at dusk. Its symbolism can be quite valuable if we like to consider the implications of life and not just accept and ignore them.
Ever have an experience where you KNEW something and yet there was no physical evidence? Yesterday, I went to Office Depot to have some documents copied and bound. I handed them to the gentleman and asked to have them copied and three hole drilled. I have special binders I use to hold the reports and protect them for shipment. While I waited, I felt this nagging concern that he was ruining my documents. I went back to the counter to see what was happening only to watch him twisting the spiral coil into my documents.
"What are you doing?" I called to him in complete exasperation. "I didn’t work last night until 4 A.M. just to watch you destroy my documents. I said 'three hole drill!'" I paused, realized that he could do nothing now but coil bind the reports. I was disappointed, but quickly selected their best bindings available and allowed him to finish it. The point is, I KNEW what was happening without seeing, hearing, touching, smelling or tasting. My five physical senses were not a part of the process, yet I was clear that something else was happening.
The implication is not, "Oh, Todd you have ESP" as if being able to know the unknowable can be explained by labeling it with three letters (so it can be forgotten and ignored.) The implication is: We are greater than our bodies and have intelligence that supersedes the workings of the brain. We simply are MORE than we have been told. We are not limited to the definitions of matter we have been given and there is something greater that works through us. We know this, but why do so many ignore it? We don’t have to lock ourselves into limited belief systems. My new book The Mystical Secrets of Life is packed with these examples and their significance. We do ourselves a favor to consider the implications of happenings we do not understand. Life is miraculous and we are included in its amazing process.
